United Way Accepting 2010 Grant Applications
United Way of Scott County is seeking programs that address the changing human service needs of Scott County residents. These programs should be held within the geographical confines of the county and available and accessible to all.
United Way is especially interested in funding programs that deal with its three vision areas: Investing in Children in Youth, Promoting Health and Independence, and Helping Families in Crisis.
Proposed programs do not have to be limited to these areas, however. United Way is interested in looking at any project regardless of emphasis.
Funding for this cycle will be determined by the outcome of the current campaign and this funding period will run from January through December 2010. Agencies applying for funding should take this into consideration. Requests cannot be for capital or building projects. Emphasis will be placed on collaborative efforts, which are working to meet the county’s health and human service needs in the most cost effective manner. The applications must be for specific programs or services and awarded monies may not be used for purposes other than stated on the application and contract.
Any not-for-profit agency (501c3) providing health or human services to Scott County residents is welcome to apply for this funding. Applicants need to be tax-exempt and governed by a volunteer board of directors.
Applications are available now and may be requested through United Way of Scott County by sending a written request to P.O. Box 227, Scottsburg, IN 47170; by e-mail at unitedwayscottcounty@verizon.net, by visiting the office at 134 N. Gardner St., Scottsburg, or by calling (812) 752-2586. The application must be completed and returned to the United Way office by Friday, January 15th 2010, to be considered in this funding cycle.
